The Joy of Bookshops!

This blog post is the opinion of Thomas Creedy, our Digital Marketing Executive, and not the official view of Marylebone House.

Here at Marylebone House we are proud to publish the finest fiction across both digital and physical formats. We want the maximum possible audience to engage with our wonderful author's work, and to be provoked inspired by the portraits painted.

That said, there is something special about a real book, purchased from a real bookshop.

I don't know about you, but there is something about the smell and feel of books, new and old, that entices and comforts.

Some of my favourite places are second-hand bookshops, where there latest novels are creased and corner-tucked alongside ancient copies of Readers Digest, 'Who's Who' from the 1980s, and a plethora of other treasures.

I love my e-reader too, but there is nothing quite so satisfying as spending a few hours running fingers along spines, smelling the must of well-sacrificed trees, and asking for obscure titles. Bookshops are brilliant!
